Aspire to host international conference on Asperger
Syndrome
Aspire - The Asperger Syndrome Association of Ireland will be hosting an
International Conference on Asperger Syndrome to be held on the 17 October 2009
in the National College of Ireland, Dublin. The theme of this year's event
focuses on intervention strategies and coping skills.
Asperger Syndrome
(AS) is a form of high functioning autism and people with this syndrome can
experience great difficulties with communication/social interaction and flexible
thinking.
In keeping with Aspire's tradition of helping families,
children and adults with AS, this conference will provide training, avenues and
ideas as to the possible ways to ensure positive outcomes for people with the
syndrome. With a series of insightful speeches and thought-provoking workshops,
this conference will be of interest to a wide audience including parents,
professionals working in the area of education and individuals with the
condition.
