PRESS RELEASE
LAUNCH OF NEW ‘MANAGEMENT OF AGEING SKIN’ GUIDELINES
New guidelines have been launched to
help healthcare professionals effectively manage older patients with common skin
disorders such as incontinence dermatitis. The ‘Guideline for the Management
of Ageing Skin’ has been developed by an independent group of dermatology
specialists, including the Chair of Primary Care Dermatology Society (PCDS) and
a Professional Officer for the British Dermatological Nursing Group
(BDNG).
The aim of the guidelines is to assist healthcare professionals in understanding ageing skin and to promote the important issues when caring for older people’s skin.
In addition, the guideline also offers advice on how to prevent, recognise and treat incontinence dermatitis as well as offering links to resources and organisations which will offer further information.
