RAMI Section of Bioengineering

32nd Annual Conference BinI 2027

Friday 22 – Saturday 23 January 2027 · Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone · Organised by Dublin City University

01 — Conference details

Bioengineering in Ireland (BinI), since 1995

Dublin City University (DCU) is delighted to announce that the 32nd Annual Conference of the Section of Bioengineering of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland (BinI 2027) will take place at the Hodson Bay, Athlone, Ireland from Friday 22nd – Saturday 23rd January 2027. The conference will provide an opportunity for the Irish and international bioengineering community to come together to present research, discuss emerging developments and establish new collaborations.

Bioengineering in Ireland has been held annually since its inaugural meeting in 1995, when a small interdisciplinary group of engineers and clinicians gathered in Tulfarris to share emerging research and foster collaboration. Since then, the conference has grown into the flagship gathering for the Irish bioengineering community, showcasing cutting-edge advances in biomechanics, biomaterials, medical device design, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and medical imaging.
The most recent conference was hosted by the University of Limerick in 2026 and attracted almost 200 delegates from across Ireland and beyond. The event provided a vibrant forum for researchers, clinicians, industry partners, and students to present their latest findings, exchange ideas, and highlight the breadth and quality of bioengineering research being conducted across Ireland’s universities and research institutions.
