Medical Writing in Irish, 1350 to 1650
Dr Aoibheann Nic Dhonnchadha

There are more than a hundred Irish medical manuscripts extant, dating from the period 1350 to 1650.
They comprise textbooks and manuals written by and for members of the medical profession.

Many of them have been made available online by `Irish Script on Screen’. (www.isos.dias.ie), a specialist manuscript-digitisation project of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.

Dr Aoibheann Nic Dhonnchadha will speak about the history of Irish medical manuscripts and about `Irish Script on Screen’.

All Welcome, particularly students.
