RAMI Research Awards 2025

Call for Abstracts
Closing date is 31/07/2026

The Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland (RAMI), in association with the bimonthly journal it publishes, the Irish Journal of Medical Science, invites you to submit your published papers to the RAMI Research Awards 2025.

The Awards are now open to all those involved in Irish medical research who have had an original research paper published in an indexed journal between 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025.

The closing date for submission of abstracts for the Awards is close of business Friday 31st July 2026.

Awards ceremony will be held in October, date and venue will be announced shortly. 

Attendance is by invitation only.

  • General Practice
  • Medical Microbiology
  • Oncology
  • Ophthalmology
  • Psychiatry
  • Public Health Medicine/Epidemiology
  • Surgery
  • Women’s Health

 Requirements and Criteria for Submission 

Please read the following carefully before submitting your paper.

  • Your paper should have been published in a peer-reviewed medical journal from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025.
  • Your paper should relate to Irish-based research.
  • You should submit the abstract of your paper exactly as it appears on PubMed.
  • We can only accept one submission per author. 
  • Papers will be submitted by the lead author and not on their behalf by a colleague or supervisor as we will only send correspondence relating to results and the awards evening to the lead author.
  • You can assign one category only to your paper.
  • Your paper should be submitted via the RAMI website. 
  • Please include the PubMed ID with your submission.
  • Your submission should be a pdf document.
  • You should name your abstract file in the format Category_Your surname (e.g. Surgery_ODonnell) – see categories listed above.
  • Please do not use punctuation marks in the file name.
  • Your paper must not have been previously submitted to this competition.
  • Make sure you name the category (see list above) in which you wish to be considered.
  • You should be the person who has done the work on the paper. We encourage young researchers to submit rather than the senior person involved in the paper.
  • If you are not the first or senior author on the paper, you should provide evidence to show you have consent from your co-authors to submit the paper.
  • We only accept original research papers. We cannot consider letters, reviews, opinions, clinical cases, etc.
