 The Psychiatry Division of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland (RAMI) in conjunction with the Academic Faculty of the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland invites abstract submissions from all non-consultant psychiatrists, medical students and Interns for Oral Presentation.  Applicants will be informed whether their abstract has been accepted or not within two weeks of the closing date.

Guidelines:                   

Abstracts must be in English.

Please show which competition you are entering by placing HST or BST on the document.

Use Word format document (no pdf’s), single-spaced using Trebuchet MS font size 11. (Please do not use any other formatting than specified).

The full name of the presenting author.  Include full names of all co-authors

Your current appointment & place of work address (this information will be displayed on the programme if you are invited to present), this should be included at end of abstract).

By submitting your abstract, you are confirming that all co-authors have approved the submission, and agree to your abstract being presented at the conference and appearing on the College website.

Abstracts on research should clearly state the following: (i) objectives/aims, (ii) background, (iii) methods (iv) results & (v) conclusions.

The abstract should not contain bibliographic references, tables or appendices.

The abstract should be approximately 300 words but no more than 400 (count not including title/authors).

All conflicts of interest and sources of financial sponsorship of the study should be stated clearly at the end of the abstract.

Submissions are accepted on the understanding that the work has been performed with the permission of any relevant ethical or legislative body.

Please declare if you have previously submitted the same data set and state where.

Abstracts will be published online in the Irish Journal of Medical Science, please tick Yes or No if you wish to have abstract published in the “For Publication” option.

There are two options to select when uploading your document –  1) Case Presentations, 2) Clinical Research (Audit & Basic Research).

 If you are invited for oral presentation:

You must register (REGISTER HERE) for the conference and those selected to present must be available to present on Thursday 30th May 2019.  All those attending should register their attendance.

You will be allocated a 12-minute time slot which includes 3 minutes for questions

Your PowerPoint presentation must be received before close of business on Thursday 23rd May 2019.

Time spent on research & preparation of poster / oral presentations should be logged as
Research CPD credits in your CPD Diary (in the Research/Examining/Postgraduate Supervision & Teaching CPD category.) 1 credit per hour of activity
